Make a difference - Become a Fed Rep

Colleagues

Statutory Elections for Federation Representatives on Northumbria Police Federation Branch Council are scheduled to commence on 1 February 2018. The election process will be conducted by an external online provider appointed by National PFEW.

Northumbria's Branch Council consists of 39 democratically elected representatives from all business areas of the Force. The nomination period for all 39 positions will run from 1 - 17 February 2018, and candidates from subscribing Federation members up to rank of Chief Inspector are invited to put themselves forward.

Below is some further information about the election process:-

Who can stand for election as a Workplace Rep?

Any subscribing member who is not suspended can stand as a candidate in the constituency of which they are a member, so long as they were a member of the Federation 2 months before nominations open (i.e. 1 December 2017).

How do I stand for election?

Any member wishing to stand for election can self-nominate via an online portal during the Nomination Period - a link will be provided to all members via their PNN address at the appropriate time. You will need to fill in the online Nomination Form and sign the Standards and Performance Agreement. You can self-nominate in all Elections, there is no need to be nominated or seconded by another member.

How do I find out which Branch Constituency I am in?

When you visit the Nomination website, there will be information on Constituencies that will enable you to select the correct one to stand in. Once your nomination is submitted, it will be checked by your local Federation Office to ensure the information such as the constituency is correct.
