Today marks the 30th anniversary of the death of Northumbria PC Samuel McClughlin.
Samuel collapsed and died of heart failure while driving to work in his car on 22 April 1996. He was aged 52.
Nick Munnelly, chair of Northumbria Police Federation, said: “Today we remember the life of PC Samuel McClughlin and the service he gave to Northumbria Police and our communities.
“The thoughts of everyone at the Federation are with Samuel’s family, friends, and his former colleagues on this poignant day.”
