“We’re extremely relieved that nobody came away with life-threatening injuries,” says the chair of Northumbria Police Federation, commenting on a multi-vehicle crash in Newcastle this week.
Nick Munnelly says the thoughts of the Federation remain with all those involved in the incident, which took place during the early hours of Wednesday morning (9 April).
A collision involving five police vehicles during a pursuit on the A1 near Denton Burn, Newcastle, resulted in seven officers injured.
Relieved
“We’re thinking of all those involved in the incident, as well as their families. We’re extremely relieved that nobody received life-threatening injuries,” said Nick.
“Although all officers are safe and well, I want all those involved to know that the Federation is here to support them, including all those who attended the incident.”
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, with a woman, also in her 20s, arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting dangerous driving.
