Northumbria Police Federation Group Insurance Scheme has renewed its partnership with Sirens Wellness to provide mental and physical health support to members.
Sirens Wellness CIC was set up by former Northumbria Police officer Jacqui Croskery.
It uses alternative and adventure activities to support emergency service workers with their mental and physical health.
The organisation is working with the Northumbria Federation Group Insurance Scheme for a third year to provide its popular ‘Breath, Sauna and Sea’ wellness sessions.
The sessions include breathwork, meditation, a barefoot beach sauna mixed with cold water therapy in the sea and a mug of hot cacao to end the session.
Wellness
Jacqui said: “I am a firm believer we should be prioritising our wellbeing as much as we do our work, and I am delighted to be working in conjunction with the Federation Group Insurance to provide these valuable wellness activities for its members.
“Our sessions help to forge new friendships and build community within the policing family, gain a sense of accomplishment and enhance relaxation and decompression.
“Officers and staff have proven ability at being brave, and being taken out of your comfort zone and doing a new activity is finding the next level of bravery.
“These activities will also encourage resilience, dissolve fear, grow your confidence and problem-solving abilities while connecting with nature in a fun and memorable way.
“It will open a world of possibility for you and your team, as inviting adventure can be a powerful catalyst for growth and wellbeing.”
